Up for sale, a 1981 Greco Super Real SE1200 in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original tweed hardshell case and hangtags. Heralding from the most collectable (and brief) era of Greco production and the pinnacle of Fujigen design, this SE1200 is designed to capture the look and feel of a 1958 Stratocaster.

Produced just a few months before Greco switched gears and started producing official Fender instruments in early 1982, this SE1200 will delight vintage Stratocaster purists with a bevy of top-tier features including a birdseye maple neck with a soft V shaped profile carve, a lacquer finished alder body with a subtle "2.5 burst" finish, black bobbin "Squeeze" pickups, a unique white lacquer-finished solid aluminum pickguard, and even Greco's top tier center pocket tweed "SE Old" hardshell case with a red poodle interior.

The trio of Squeeze single coil pickups were redesigned for the Super Real series, and as translated from the '81 catalog, these pickups offer the "tension, attack and delicacy unique to single coils." Featuring staggered alnico magnets, these pickups capture the woody cut, dry percussive spank and sweet sparkle of '50s Fender single coils, coupled to a five-way pickup selector switch. This SE1200 benefits from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The Sunburst gloss finish is genuine lacquer, presenting as a "2.5 burst" with a very subtle central red band, replicating the way early three-tone Sunbursts aged. There is some minor (Fujigen factory) touch-up below the clear coat on the lower bout perimeter, and further cosmetic wear is limited to minor buckle worming across the back and some minor dings on the lower bout. The nitro gloss on the neck profile highlights the birdseye figuring in the maple, with only a few shallow marks on the shoulders.

The original tweed SE Old hardshell case is included, along with the hangtags.
