Up for sale, a 1979 Tokai Les Paul Reborn LS-150 “Love Rock” in 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original Lifton-style hardshell case. Originally introduced in 1977, this is the model that would eventually be called the Love Rock, retaining the "Les Paul Reborn" text which was quickly struck from the headstock face to avoid legal action from Gibson. The LS-150 was an upper-tiered model at the time of this instrument’s production, featuring a pair of USA-made DiMarzio humbuckers with double cream bobbins, a carved tiger maple top, and a lacquer "Original Sunburst" finish.

Extremely lightweight at only 8lbs 4oz, traditional tonewoods include a mahogany body, carved two-piece flame maple top, mahogany neck, and rosewood fingerboard. The DiMarzio pickups are the classic combination of a PAF at the neck and a Super Distortion at the bridge: the PAF is dynamic and clear, with terrific heft and woodiness, and the ever-popular Super Distortion is focused and aggressive, with grit and bite that is ideal for distortion or pushing a tube amp into creamy breakup territory. This LS-150 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss Original Sunburst lacquer finish presents somewhere in the world of an “Iced Tea” burst, highlighting the notably tight, straight figuring in the carved two-piece maple top with subtle checking. The guitar exhibits buckle wear along the bass-side of the back and a number of small dings, primarily relegated to the body edges. The neck profile has an inviting feel, with some shallow marks buffed smooth from play.

The original Lifton-style hardshell case is included.
