Up for sale, a 1979 Gibson ES-335 Pro in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. Only produced from 1979-81, the Pro was a Norlin-era updated take on the 335, described by Gibson as the “guitar that 335 lovers have been desiring for years.”
Tonewoods include a maple body (maple centerblock) and maple neck with a bound rosewood fingerboard, ensuring terrific natural treble detail and articulation. The pickups are a later pair of Gibson’s ‘57 Classic PAFs, faithful to the originals in their craftsmanship and tonal response. The bridge pickup is focused and gutsy, surprisingly potent in its output, and the neck is wound on the hotter side, broad and smooth with great overarching warmth. This ES-335 Pro weighs 8lbs 7oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
