Up for sale, a 1979 Fender Stratocaster in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and hangtags. Tonewoods include an ash body, maple neck, and rosewood fretboard, and this Strat weighs 9lbs 15oz, delivering plenty of natural punch and sweet sustain. The trio of gray bobbin pickups feature flush-mount, unbeveled pole pieces, and these pickups are notably jangly and sparkling, particularly at the bridge and the “in-between” settings on the five-way switch, which yield a slinky quack and cut. The neck pickup has a fuller bark and a broad, smooth treble response. This Stratocaster has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss Black finish exhibits light wear in the clear coat on the back along the edges from contact with the case lining, and strap-related wear on the bass-side body horn on top. There is limited buckle rash central to the back, three small finish chips on the back, and some tiny dings and faint scratches in the clear coat consistent with careful use. The neck profile retains its smooth ambered gloss.
The original black tolex hardshell case is included, along with the manual, inspection tag, tremolo spring bag, and case keys.
