Up for sale, a circa 1977 Gibson Les Paul Custom in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. Traditional ‘70s Gibson construction includes a “sandwich” mahogany body, three-piece carved maple top, maple neck, and a bound ebony fretboard, weighing 9lbs 15oz.
The pair of T Top humbuckers offer a distinct sound at each position on the three-way pickup selector switch, with plenty of note attack, bite and midrange aggression at the bridge, while the neck position tones are bold and round. This Les Paul Custom benefits from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

Both humbuckers are era-correct vintage Gibson T-Tops, recently installed and fitted with naturally aged genuine Gibson gold covers. The pickups have ink stamps on the baseplates from a couple years after this Les Paul was produced (Gibson had stickered serials in 1975-77, with stamped eight-digit serials beginning in ‘78)
The gloss Alpine White nitro lacquer finish is 100% original with no touch-up or overspray, and the clear coat has gently yellowed, with lacquer checking along the binding and the seam on the “sandwich” mahogany body. There is buckle rash on the back, some small finish chips along the lower bout perimeter, and some additional minor dings on the body as a whole. On the neck profile, there is limited palm wear along the shoulders and a few shallow chips that have been buffed smooth and are not distracting to the palm while fretting.
An era-correct black tolex hardshell case is included. The case features functional latches, the original handle, and a clean “Gibson” silkscreen on the lid.
