Up for sale, a 1977 Gibson Explorer in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with a hardshell case. From the limited nad highly sought after reintroduction of the Explorer model in the latter half of the ‘70s, this example features mahogany construction, a slender neck profile carve, and a pair of T-Top humbuckers.
The mahogany construction results in exceptional natural midrange warmth and fullness, and this Explorer weighs 8lbs 12oz. All three pickup positions are distinct and full-sounding, and the T-Top humbuckers deliver growl and taut low end in the bridge position, while the neck pickup has ample oomph and a thick, cutting quality. This Explorer has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The nitro gloss on the neck profile is smooth and clean, with a few shallow marks that are not distracting to the palm while fretting.
A circa 1990s Gibson USA brown hardshell case with pink plush interior is included.
