Up for sale, a 1976 Gibson Firebird V Bicentennial, 100% original and complete with a hardshell case. This limited edition Gibson model was released to commemorate America’s bicentennial, featuring gold-plated hardware and a star-spangled Firebird graphic on the pickguard.
All the classic hallmarks of Firebird design are present, including mahogany neck-through construction with mahogany body wings, banjo tuners, and a pair of mini humbuckers with a 60s-spec wind, metering around 6k ohms. The foundational warmth and sustain of the neck through mahogany construction is channeled through the pickups, delivering a detailed and clear-sounding quality with a sparkling treble register, smooth midrange growl, and focused, sinewy bass response. The bridge pickup has also been wax potted for optimal feedback rejection when paired with heavy gain. This Bicentennial Firebird weighs 7lbs 6oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
