Up for sale, a 1973 Fender Twin Reverb in exceptional condition and in perfect working order with the original vinyl slip cover. Loaded with the original pair of Oxford 12T6 12" drivers and a complete set of original RCA preamp tubes, this amp lives up to its reputation for having the most formidable, glassy, and balanced clean tones a tube amp can provide. Perfect not only for guitar, the Twin is an excellent choice for any scenario where headroom is a must, performing equally well with a pedal steel or your favorite Rhodes piano.
The circuit is extremely original and professionally recapped with high quality F&T filter caps in the power supply and smaller Sprague electrolytics in the preamp. The Schumacher transformers date between the 22nd and 29th weeks of 1973, and all of the original CTS pots are present as well, dating to '73. The chassis has a very clean faceplate and full complement of original witch hat knobs. The tube set comprises a brand new set of properly biased Sovtek 5881 (6L6GC) power tubes, while the preamp is outfitted with the full set of original matched RCA valves.
Inside the cabinet, the original tube chart is intact, and the pair of Oxford 12T6 12" speakers have clean blue foil Fender labels on the ceramic magnets, with clean black frames and viable cones. The stickers on the speaker frames date to the 9th week of '73. The smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth with blue stripe is remarkably well-kept, as is all of the original hardware including the stock casters and tilt-back chrome-plated legs.
The original black vinyl slip cover is included with clean silkscreened "Twin Reverb" text on the front. A modern two-button footswitch is also included.
