Up for sale, a 1972 Gibson Les Paul Triumph bass in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. A first-year example of the bass sibling of the Les Paul Recording, the Triumph is easily one of Gibson’s most versatile, feature-rich basses ever produced, boasting a pair of Gibson’s Low Impedance humbuckers with a wide array of controls.
Tonewoods include a “sandwich” mahogany body, three-piece mahogany neck, and bound rosewood fingerboard, and at 10lbs 1oz, this Triumph dishes out plenty of natural sustain, paired with the midrange potency of the all-mahogany construction. The Low Impedance stacked humbuckers feature Alnico magnets and 32 gauge wire, delivering a vast array of tones via the various control configurations. The three-way Tone switch toggles between the pickup’s three taps, ranging from big, throaty thump to a more pointed, aggressive snarl, and the Triumph also features a High/Low Impedance switch for improved rig compatibility and a Phase In/Out switch. This Les Paul Triumph has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, dialed in with 45-100 roundwound strings, easy-playing action, and accurate intonation.
