Up for sale, a 1972 Fender Competition Mustang in collector-grade condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and all hangtags and case candy. This exceedingly well-kept Mustang is finished in Competition Burgundy, essentially Lake Placid Blue with a racing stripe and a subtle purple burst on the body edges (this one presents with more purple at the edges than most).
Smooth and clear-sounding acoustically, this Mustang offers plenty of sparkling snap and jangle via the pair of gray bobbin single coils. The bridge pickup has a crisp growl, while the neck pickup has more warmth and sweetness. One of the most fun sounds on the Mustang is the out-of-phase setting, engaged when both on/off/on pickup selector switches are at their innermost or outermost points for a distinctive quack and spank. The Competition Mustang weighs 7lbs 6oz, professionally dialed in here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with fresh 11-49 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss on the neck profile is pristine and similarly unaged.
The original hardshell case is included, along with the manual/hangtag, bridge leaflet, Fender-branded polish cloth, strap, cable, and Fender-branded picks.
