Up for sale, a 1971 Gibson ES-335 TDW in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original Ess & Ess hardshell case. This well-kept ES-335 features a gloss Walnut nitro lacquer finish, small block inlay, and Gibson-embossed pickup covers only offered from 1971-72.
This Gibson delivers the goods, with the big barking acoustic voice, yielding the immediacy and snap of maple, and the open, airy quality of the semi-hollow construction. The Patent Stickered T Top humbuckers are a perfect compliment to the 335's construction and tonewoods, with a bridge pickup that offers both definition and warmth with a surprising amount of treble chime. With both pickups engaged it's easy to dial in an ideal rhythm tone that has percussive cut and roundness, and with the neck pickup singled out, things fatten up nicely, yet stay clear. This ES-335 TDW weighs 7lbs 8oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 11-49 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss Walnut nitro lacquer finish is framed by ambered binding, with checking in the lacquer and top ply of the laminate adjacent to the input jack and just north of the tailpiece. There is light buckle wear across the back and some additional minor dings and scuffs on the body as a whole. The gloss on the neck profile is free of palm wear, with some shallow nicks on the profile length largely worn smooth through play.
The original Ess & Ess black tolex hardshell case with gold plush interior is included. The case features functional latches and a replacement handle.
