Up for sale, a 1970's Greco model RD650 electric guitar in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. Expertly crafted in Japan concurrently alongside the Ibanez model 2380, the RD650 is a quality take on the unusual Gibson Les Paul Recording model of the same period (a personal favorite of Les Paul himself). The distinct slanted pickups run hotter than the Gibson version, and switching options ballpark the unique sonic combinations provided by the original. Able to operate in low impedance mode when plugging directly into a mixing console as Les Paul preferred or in high impedance mode via the internal transformer for more traditional operation through your favorite amp, the RD650 has a host of surprising innovations and tonal tools. With phase switching and a pair of three-way tone selectors, this guitar works exactly as intended and is viable for a wide range of genres. The guitar weighs 10lbs 13oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, comfortable action, and accurate intonation.

The one-piece mahogany neck has a slender rounded C shape with modest shoulder, measuring .800” deep at the 1st fret and .885” at the 12th. The bound rosewood fretboard features pearl trapezoid inlay and stock slender fretwire which is stunningly clean, retaining its full factory height and showing virtually no wear. The guitar plays cleanly in every register up the straight neck with an ideally adjusted and responsive truss rod. The scale length is 24 3/4“, and the original nut measures 1 11/16" in width. On the bound open book headstock, cosmetic touches evoke the original Gibson design, with split diamond inlay, original two-ply truss rod cover, and stock chrome closed-back star tuning machines with metal tulip buttons.

All of the electronics work as they should, with a Master Volume knob, a three-way rotary Tone knob, Treble and Bass controls, Phase switch, Hi/Lo output switch, three-way Tone switch, Tone on/off toggle, and a three-way pickup selector switch. The plastic parts are clean, and the chrome hardware shows just a hint of patina. Cosmetic wear is limited to a few light scuffs and marks mostly relegated to the lower bout body edge, while the neck sports a pristine smooth gloss finish.

The original hardshell case is included.
