Freshly serviced, this Twin is an early Silverface example retaining a non-Master Volume AB763 circuitry and the screw-in baffle of its Black Panel predecessor.

This Twin delivers warm, articulate cleans with ample bass response, a wide-ranging and responsive EQ, and present, sparkling Fender top end. When it comes to the quintessential Fender amp for clarity, headroom, and the balanced, authoritative response of a four 6L6 driven tube amp, it's hard to beat the Twin. The tube-driven Reverb effect has incredible depth and splash, and the Tremolo has a strong pulse with a wide range of speeds. It's as iconic a design as Leo Fender ever created, also well-suited to amplifying pedal steel or electric piano in the vein of a Wurlitzer or Fender Rhodes.

The preamp is essentially untouched, and the amp retains the original Schumacher-made transformers, all of which have dates spanning the early weeks of 1970. The CTS pots have visible date codes spanning 1966-69, and the power supply has been professionally recapped with high quality F&Ts, along with the cap on the bias board. A three-prong power cable has also been added. The power tubes are a quad of properly biased Tung-Sol 5881s (6L6GC), with a combination of vintage and modern valves in the preamp from the likes of Electro-Harmonix, Groove Tubes, and RCA.

The speakers are a vintage matched pair of Fender-branded ceramic magnet Oxford 12T6s, with clean black frames and a date code translating to the 14th week of 1968. The tube chart is intact inside the cabinet as well.

The amp has been regrilled with pristine silver sparkle grillcloth with blue stripe, and the original black tolex has just a couple minor marks of wear on the enclosure. The faceplate is clean with crisp graphics and a full complement of original witch hat knobs. All of the original hardware is present, save for a replacement raised Fender logo.
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0550/4437/4714/files/medium_4fc7a0ea-2d9a-4444-a972-f2a3705d3696.jpg?v=1791200046
https://mmguitarbar.com/products/1970-fender-twin-reverb-silverface-vintage-tube-amp-2x12-w-oxford-12t6-serviced
