Up for sale, a 1969 Guild D-35 NT in excellent condition, complete with the original hardshell case and hangtag. Introduced in ‘68, this second-year example of the D-35 was likely among the last guitars crafted at Guild’s Hoboken, NJ factory, during the gradual transition from Hoboken to the Westerly, RI factory (between 1967-69).

Tonewoods include an X-braced spruce top, mahogany back and sides, mahogany neck, and a rosewood fretboard. This square-shoulder Guild dreadnought offers tons of projection with a full-bodied, robust response. Far from just power and potency, this D-35 is remarkably detailed and articulate, with a balanced string-to-string response. The bass register bloom is matched perfectly by the sweet treble punch, plenty snappy and immediate with a dry, percussive snap and a distinctive bark when hit hard with a flatpick. This D-35 NT weighs 4lbs 7oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 12-53 bronze strings and easy-playing action.

The gloss nitro lacquer Natural finish is 100% original save for a targeted touch-up along the center seam repair behind the bridge on top. The treble-side lower bout edge on top also exhibits signs of a small impact in this area, yet there are no cracks through the spruce. There is buckle rash across the back and treble-side rim, pick wear across the soundhole, and some minor dings and finish scratches consistent with decades of careful use.

The original black tolex hardshell case is included, along with the hangtag.
