Up for sale, a 1966 Fender Princeton Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order, loaded with its original tube set. Freshly serviced, extremely original and notably clean cosmetically, this Princeton Reverb is the perfect amplifier for small club gigs and studio sessions. Loaded with an era-correct Oxford 10K5 speaker, the AA764 Black Panel circuit delivers both well-balanced, sparkling cleans and smooth, harmonic-rich overdrive when dimed out. The Reverb is lush and the Tremolo has a nice pulse with a wide range of speeds.
The circuit is 100% original save for a new bias capacitor, and all of the stock transformers are present, manufactured by Fender's two transformer suppliers in the Black Panel era, Schumacher and Better Coil & Transformer. The transformers date between the 47th week of 1965 and the 4th week of '66. The preamp features all of the original blue molded Ajax tone caps, an essential part of the Black Panel sound. All of the original CTS and Stackpole pots are intact, with visible date codes from the 49th week of '65. The chassis stamp dates to 1966, and the power cable is still the original two-prong (a three-prong cable can be installed at the new owner's discretion at no additional cost). The tubes are the original set, with an Amperex GZ34 rectifier, a matched pair of RCA 6V6s and a combination of Mullard and RCA tubes in the preamp.
The speaker is an era-correct Oxford 10K5 (a speaker used on early Princeton Reverbs), actually predating the amp, with a stamp on the edge of the frame from the 15th week of 1964.
The tube chart is present, and the "PC" date stamp translates to March of 1966.
The original smooth black tolex is in excellent shape, and the original silver sparkle grillcloth shows limited aging with plenty of sparkle left in the thread. All of the original hardware is intact, including the raised logo, handle caps, chassis straps, and sphinx glides (feet).
