Up for sale, a circa 1965 Martin GT-75 in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. Crafted as part of the GT series, this unique Martin was one of a handful of attempts Martin made to break into the exploding electric guitar market in the ‘60s. Features include a hollow thinline maple body, Bigsby GT-75B vibrato, a pair of DeArmond Dynasonic pickups, and a gloss Burgundy nitro lacquer finish, implying this guitar was produced towards the beginning of the GT-75’s limited 1965-67 production run (a brighter red was phased in by early ‘66).

The hollow maple body is exceptionally resonant, providing a detailed, expansive platform for the pickup pair. The DeArmond Dynasonic pickups have plenty of woody, percussive cut, with bell-like trebles, good articulation in the upper-midrange, and a fundamental sweetness. The bridge is jangly and slick, while the neck is spongy and broad without sacrificing definition. This GT-75 is featherweight at 6lbs 6oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 11-49 roundwound strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

-Wood: Mahogany
-Shape: Slender C, measuring .825” 1st fret, .955” 12th fret

-Nut: 1 5/8”

The gloss Burgundy nitro lacquer finish is framed by ambered binding, exhibiting limited checking, with very light buckle rash central to the back and just a few faint marks on the body as a whole. The nitro gloss on the neck profile is smooth and clean save for a couple shallow nicks that are virtually undetectable to the palm while fretting.

The original black tolex hardshell case with green plush interior is included.
