Up for sale, a 1963 Gibson Melody Maker D in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original chipboard case. This exceedingly well-kept Melody Maker D is notable for its particularly vibrant Sunburst gloss nitro lacquer finish and early short-frame Maestro Vibrola.
Featuring solid Honduran mahogany body construction with a one-piece mahogany neck capped with a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, this Melody Maker D is rich and resonant. The pair of robust-sounding single coil pickups combine a Fender-esque snap and sparkle with the fuller midrange and low end punch that mahogany provides. The Melody Maker has a raw, bell-like sound and a tonal profile all its own, and each position on the three-way pickup selector is distinct. Featherweight at 6lbs 1oz, this Melody Maker has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with fresh 10-46 strings, low action and accurate intonation
