This ultra short scale hollowbody bass measures just 25\" from nut to saddle, with a maple body and pair of hotly wound Mosrite single coil pickups. Strung with 45-100 flatwound strings, this Celebrity bass offers plenty of low end growl and punch. Weighing a mere 6lbs 4oz, this Mosrite has been professionally setup here at Mike \u0026amp; Mike's Guitar Bar with easy-playing action.\n\nThe maple neck has a chunky C-shaped profile carve with round shoulders and rolled fretboard edges on the thick slab rosewood fretboard, measuring .880\" deep at the 1st fret and .890\" at the 12th. The original slender fretwire exhibits decent grooves on frets 1-5, with lighter wear extending to fret 10, still playing cleanly in every register up the notably short 25\" scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The fretboard measures 1 5\/8\" in width at the zero fret just forward of the aluminum nut. On the headstock, the original truss rod cover is intact with some very faint intricate etching on the plastic, and the oversized chrome-plated Mosrite \"duck foot\" tuning machines turn very smoothly with light, uniform surface patina.\n\nThis bass had a left-handed conversion in its lifetime, later reverted for right-hand usage. An extra teardrop-shaped control plate was added, covering a non-factory control cavity route on the bass-side lower bout, perfectly matching the original control plate. All of the electronics work well, with the pair of original Mosrite single coils governed by Master Volume and Tone controls fitted with replacement smooth-top chrome knobs. The original bridge is intact, as is the trapeze tailpiece and there are a few small doweled mounting holes for the pickguard and bridge cover (neither of which are included). The orange \"Mosrite of California\" label is visible through the F hole, noting production at the original Bakersfield factory.\n\nThe gloss Cherry finish is framed by deeply ambered body binding, with dings, scuffs and finish chips on the body as a whole, and a sliver of finish loss on the back lower bout body edge.
