Up for sale, a 1960s Danelectro 3412 Shorthorn bass in near-mint, 100% original condition and n in perfect working order. This vintage short scale bass features a hollow body crafted from Masonite over a poplar frame, offering round note attack and smooth bark, featherweight at 5lbs 12oz. Strung with 45-100 flatwound strings, there’s a surprisingly wide array of tonalities via the lipstick single coil pickup for both round thump and tic-tac trebles. Rolling off the Tone knob yields smooth punch, with further tonal versatility achieved via the three-position Tone switch. This Danelectro 3412 Shorthorn has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with easy-playing action and accurate intonation.

The wiring harness is still sealed in the untouched copper shielding, and the Copper nitro lacquer finish is 100% original with no touch-up or overspray, framed by white binding tape. The body finish is near-mint with just a few light scuffs and restrained pick wear on top, while the binding tape shows some localized discoloration near the rear strap button. The neck profile shows oxidation of the copper along the profile length.
