Up for sale, a 1960 Gretsch 6118 Double Anniversary in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case, hangtag, and case candy. This remarkably well-kept Gretsch Double Anniversary features an early pair of Hi-Lo’Tron pickups, Space Control bridge, and gloss Smoke Green two-tone nitro lacquer finish.
Tonewoods include a fully hollow maple body with trestle bracing, maple neck, and Brazilian rosewood fretboard, and this Gretsch weighs 7lbs 8oz with a terrifically peppy, crisp and chiming acoustic response. Hi-Lo'Trons are essentially a single coil version of the Filter'Tron, known for their shimmering highs, mellow lows, and lively response, with plenty of Gretsch’s signature clarity and jangle on tap. The nitro gloss on the neck profile is flawless save for one tiny chip behind fret 1 that is undetectable to the palm while fretting.
