Few circuits are more desired and emulated than the narrow panel Tweed 5E3, and this amp sounds much like it looks; punchy and mean, with roaring harmonic-rich overdrive. Extremely responsive to player inputs and delivering a glassy, rounded clean tone at lower volumes, the amp really sings when pushed, and bridging the channels yields sweet buzzy qualities with ideal midrange bite that one often can't coax out of any other Tweed circuit. This amp reacts well to a host of effects pedals and guitars, but truly shines with the guitar plugged straight into the amp, using the volume knob to coax clean rhythm tones and singing leads with the twist of a knob.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nThe circuit has been freshly serviced, retaining all of the original yellow Astron capacitors, as well as the carbon comp resistors and Minimite caps in the preamp. All of the original pots are intact, and the power supply has been professionally recapped. The original Triad power transformer is present, and the output transformer has been replaced with a properly spec’d equivalent. The tube complement includes a vintage Sylvania 5Y3 rectifier, a matched pair of Electro-Harmonix 6V6GT power tubes, and a combination of vintage and modern valves in the preamp.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nThe speaker is an era-correct Jensen P12R alnico magnet 12\" driver, boasting the Jensen foil sticker on the bell cover and a date code on the edge of the frame which translates to the 6th week of 1958. The tube chart is intact inside the cabinet, with a \"GH\" stamp dating to August of 1957.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nThe original ambered tweed and oxblood grillcloth are present, with moderate wear on the enclosure edges. The chrome on the chassis is bright and clean with only minimal pitting, retaining the white silkscreen text and original set of chicken head knobs.
