Up for sale, a 1920s Martin Style 2 soprano ukulele in excellent condition. This soprano ukulele was produced sometime between 1923-27, as identified via the original set of Grover No. 76 tuning machines, peghead stamp, position markers on the fretboard, and orientation of the internal stamp. The Style 2 was Martin’s mid-tier ukulele offering at the time of production, with slightly more ornate marquetry that the spartan Style 0 and 1 including multi-ply binding on top, a simple soundhole rosette, and single-ply binding on the back.

The body and neck are crafted from mahogany, with a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard and an ebony nut. This Style 2 is resonant, warm and clear, with a detail and roundness to single note lines that is classic Martin. This Style 2 soprano ukulele weighs 11oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with fluorocarbon strings and optimal action.
